Despite limited direct user research access, a deep dive into existing system logs, indirect feedback channels, and stakeholder interviews revealed critical inefficiencies. Missing Context & Data Distrust
The absence of descriptive labels and metadata forces users into manual verification for every report. Without situational context, the interface increases cognitive load and diminishes data trust, making it impossible for users to identify relevant information at a glance
Lack of flexibility
Restrictive Search & Guided Failure
Rigid search parameters and inconsistent UI components fail to accommodate diverse user queries. This lack of flexibility creates a repetitive trial-and-error loop, where users are left without clear guidance or alternative paths when search results yield no data

Non-Contextual Discovery
The landing page fails as a personalized entry point. By surfacing generic, non-contextual "Recommended Reports," the interface loses its core purpose, transforming a strategic gateway into a functional barrier that ignores actual user intent
Aligning Priority with Structure
To bridge the gap between user needs and technical viability, I synthesized 64 backlog issues into a high-leverage roadmap. By applying an Impact vs. Feasibility framework, these insights were directly translated into a restructured Information Architecture, ensuring our design efforts focus on the most critical business drivers.
